You guys, I can’t believe I have a ONE YEAR OLD! Where did the time go? This past week has been very emotional for me. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the video I put together of Wyatt’s first year. I was a complete mess going through the thousands of photos and videos on my phone. We also celebrated his birthday with family a couple weekends ago and it was such a perfect day. The theme was “Wyatt’s First Wipeout,” which is very fitting because he is such a water baby, just like daddy. I plan to put up a whole blog post with all the details in the next few days! I have received a lot of questions about his current schedule, milestones, and our current favorite products and toys so I thought it would be easiest to categorize everything below. All of the items that I am linking can be found at buybuyBABY, which is our favorite place to shop for all the baby essentials! As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions at all!

EATING//
One of the most frequently asked questions that I get is what we feed Wyatt for each meal. I thought it would be helpful to list out some of our favorite breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner ideas. These are my go-to’s and I pretty much always have them on hand. We have been doing baby-led weaning since he was about 6 months old and it has been working great for us! There are tons of resources out there if you want to learn more about baby-led weaning.
Breakfast:
- scrambled egg with a side of fruit (banana, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
- plain oatmeal with cut up fruit and peanut butter or almond butter
- yogurt and fruit
- toast with pb or almond butter or avocado
- Kodiak pancakes (weekend treat)
Lunch:
- turkey and cheese
- quesadilla and black beans
- hummus, pita bread, and olives (I realize a lot of babies may not like olives but Wyatt loves them)
- leftovers that we ate the night before (taco meat, shredded chicken, pasta)
- Here are a few easy things from Trader Joes that I love to grab:
- Mediterranian Orzo Pasta Salad
- Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers
- Veggie Fried Rice
- Gluten Free Mac + Cheese (frozen section)
Snack:
- apple sauce
- yogurt
- fruit
- healthy fruit bars
- hard boiled egg
- I just started buying these bars and he loves them!
Dinner:
- roasted veggies (broccoli, sweet potato, potatoes, carrots)
- Mexican food (tomato, beans, ground or shredded chicken)
- pasta with red sauce or mac + cheese
- rice with protein (chicken, salmon)
**for dinner Wyatt will pretty much eat whatever we are having, but here are a few ideas**

DEVELOPMENT + MILESTONES//
There have been a lot of exciting milestones over the past few months that I am so excited to share with you guys! First of all, Wyatt has really become a social butterfly and absolutely LOVES attention from anyone! When there are multiple people in the room he will demand the attention and do silly things to get it. He will let anyone hold him and really loves being around other kids. He loves to pull himself up on EVERYTHING and grab anything in sight. In just the past week or so he started taking a few steps with this walker, but isn’t quite ready to walk on his own yet. I have a feeling that it will be coming really soon though! As far as his speech goes, he pretty much babbles “Dada” all day long and only says “Mama” when he wants something haha. He also just started saying “Hi” and will say it and wave to everyone that he sees. A major milestone as of the last few weeks is he is starting to really understand certain things that I tell him. If I tell him to point to his nose or belly button he will do it and it’s the cutest thing ever! He will also play peek-a-boo with me and especially loves to do it during bath time and hide behind the shower curtain. Lastly, Wyatt really enjoys reading. Every night we make sure to take 15-20 minutes before bed to read a few books and he really enjoys it!
PLAYING//
As I mentioned above, Wyatt is starting to pull himself up on things and scoot around so we recently purchased this walker (picture above) from buybuyBABY that has amazing reviews! It has been a great toy for him as he learns to take steps on his own while holding on to it. I also love that the front part can come off and he can sit on the ground and play with it as a toy. Wyatt is also very into music and Kevin plays the guitar for him everyday. We recently got him his own guitar (picture above) and he is obsessed with it! Here are a few other items that are great for this age:
TRAVEL//
A few months ago we got a new car seat for Wyatt and I could not recommend it enough! We decided to go with the Maxi-Cosi 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat after doing a lot of research and reading tons of reviews! I love that it is comfortable for Wyatt and that we will be able to use it for a long time as it grows with the child (up to 100 lbs). The seat and pads can easily be removed and thrown in the washing machine and I love that it has cup holders. If you are in the market for a new car seat this one is currently on sale for 15% off!
I think I pretty much covered all of the topics, but if there is anything else that you might be curious about let me know!
