I am so excited to finally share all the details of Wyatt’s first birthday! We had a small family gathering in our backyard and it was a surfer theme. We thought this theme would be a cute idea since Kevin is really into surfing and we live in San Diego. One day out of nowhere Kevin said, “Wyatt’s first wipeout” and it stuck with us. As much as I would like to take credit for it, it was all his idea š I worked with a few amazing brands to pull off this theme and I am sharing all the details in this post! If you have any questions let me know!

I am so happy with how this food table turned out! First of all, this ombre table cloth could not have been more perfect for the theme! Fire and Creme actually rents it out for only $15 along with tons of other party decor! They also plan the most amazing events and you can see more on their Instagram. Fire and Creme also supplied all the tableware, which I am sharing a closer view of below.
Another company that helped bring our vision to life is Poppy Jack Shop. She created this amazing laser cut surfboard with Wyatt’s birthday along with his cake and cupcake toppers (more below). She is so creative and can really create anything you have in mind! You can also check out her Instagram to see all her amazing work!
This “Pray for Surf” sign is actually a download off Etsy for only $6! I had it printed at my local Office Depot and framed it myself.
With COVID we weren’t sure if we were going to have to change the date of Wyatt’s party, so I decided to do a Paperless Post invite so that I could easily update our guests of any changes. I thought it turned out so cute and I love the wording that we came up with!

IĀ wanted to create a little bar area in the yard with a fun signature drink that went with the theme. I decided on a rum punch cocktail and it was a hit. I bought letters off Amazon to stick onto the drink canister and I’m really happy with how it turned out! Here is the recipe that I used from Pinterest.Ā We also served Longboard beer, white wine, water, and Capri Sun for the kids.
This tan blanket, that actually reminds me of sand, is another rental from Fire and Creme.

How adorable is this surfer theme tableware?! The plates, napkins, cups, and straws are all from Fire and Creme. They seriously have the cutest stuff and have so many cute theme ideas on their site! I bought the silverware from Amazon and painted the ends myself so that it matched with the rest of the decor.
I thought it would be fun to create a desert cart for the party. Poppy Jack Shop made the cutest cake and cupcake toppers. I told her our theme and she was so create with the different designs! I decided to go with a natural wood look, but she has a lot of other options and colors too!
My mom brought the cake and cupcakes from a local Pasadena bakery and one of my best friends, Kori, made the most adorable cookies to go with the theme! I also put some Swedish Fish in a jar and added some cute shark platters to finish off the look!

Lastly, here is a look at a little area that we set up for Wyatt to smash his cake. We had so much fun creating this vision for Wyatt’s first birthday and it is a day we are going to remember for the rest of our lives! If you have any questions about any of the decor let me know!
